Daniel J. Steinberg

Executive Advisor

Daniel Steinberg is an experienced real estate executive with over 30 years’ experience in the acquisition, financing, development and management of over $3.5 billion of real estate transactions.  He will be providing strategic advice to the managing member of Valorem in all transaction-related activities. He has an extensive background in real estate development, property underwriting and investment, asset management, and creating real estate products to meet the requirements of substantial private investors. His activities as an investor, both in the context of a significant opportunity fund and a major international financial institution, give him a unique perspective on investment objectives and allocation requirements of a broad range of private and public investors.

Mr. Steinberg is currently the founder and the Managing Member of Targeted Real Estate Equities LLC, a Connecticut based merchant banking firm that undertakes property investment, asset management, and investment banking activities on behalf of private clients, families, trusts, foundations, and other private investment groups.

Prior to Targeted, Mr. Steinberg was a co-founder and Managing Director of several smaller real estate private equity funds.   Mr. Steinberg was successful in creating a broad mix of unique investment products at these funds and growing the business to nearly $600 million in property acquisitions.

Mr. Steinberg was Director and Head of Real Estate Advisory – Americas for UBS AG, one of the largest private wealth sponsor in the world.   While at UBS, he was responsible for the development and implementation of real estate investment products for high-net-worth individuals globally, including the launch of property investment vehicles for clients to pool equity to invest in direct real estate assets, the creation of single asset acquisition opportunities, and the implementation of a diversified portfolio transaction program.  He also was instrumental in working with UBS’ investment center to adopt investment in the real estate sector as a significant part of the firm’s overall portfolio allocation models.

Prior to joining UBS, he served as a Vice President of Blackstone Real Estate Advisors, one of the preeminent real estate private equity firms in the U.S.  While at Blackstone, he was involved with all phases of property acquisition, financing and asset management and led the firm’s commercial development initiative.  Prior to Blackstone, he served in various capacities with Ares Realty Capital, a subsidiary of Mutual of New York, and Kenneth Leventhal & Company (now Ernst & Young).  He began his career in the real estate industry as a construction project sponsor for Structure Tone Inc.

Mr. Steinberg graduated from the Boston University School of Management with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.  He is active in various real estate industry organizations.

J. Todd Gambino

Executive Advisor

J. Todd Gambino is the Director of Operations for Targeted Real Estate Equities and will provide strategic advice on all Valorem transactions operations.  Todd has over 35 years of experience in all facets of the development, construction, and management of commercial real estate projects.  In that time, he has been directly responsible for the oversight and development of over 5,000 residential units, several million square feet of commercial space and the development of several not-for-profit institutions such as, libraries, churches, schools, and municipal facilities.

In addition, Todd has been selected by several large institutions to oversee their construction and development projects such as, Federal Realty (NYSE:FRT), General Electric and others.  Todd graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering and holds a Masters Degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Todd achieved an Eagle Scout designation from the Boy Scouts of America and is a board member of several local institutions such as, The King School building committee, the Stamford Museum and Nature Center and the City of Stamford Environmental Protection Agency.

Sean P. McDonnel

Executive Advisor

Sean McDonnell brings over 30 years of real estate related experience to Valorem.  Sean is currently a managing Director and Healthcare lead for JLL’s Connecticut/Westchester locations. He manages the medical office and healthcare practices group and is responsible for helping his clients make real estate decisions that positively influence the quality of care and performance of inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for the employees and physicians.   Under the Healthcare umbrella, Sean also leads a team that assists senior housing operators to identify land sites and adaptive reuse sites nationally for the purpose of developing Independent and Assisted Living sites with Memory Care

Sean will work on sourcing transactions for Valorem as well as providing strategic advice on all operational matters of portfolio transactions.

Sean holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Rhode Island, where he majored in business and corporate communications.

Christine Ricci

Executive Advisor

Christine Ricci is the Director of Marketing and Investor Relations for Targeted and will perform similar roles for Valorem. In this capacity, Christine helps raise equity for various sponsored transactions and funds.  In addition, she oversees all multifamily marketing, leasing and works with the design teams to create the optimal design and unit mix of sponsored development projects.  Christine’s market knowledge of trends and demands allows her to bring a wealth of knowledge to every project she manages.  She is very skilled at creating marketing packages for development projects and building the right team of agents to successfully lease a project to stabilization and keep projects well occupied.

Christine is also an Associate Broker and founder of the Ricci Team at Keller Williams NY Realty. Throughout her more than twenty years of service, she has maintained top producer status in the Westchester County, NY, and Fairfield, Connecticut marketplaces.  This affiliation allows Christine to provide tremendous market knowledge and insight into potential transactions.

Christine began her career as a nurse and graduated from Pace University with a degree in Nursing.

Matt Johnson

Executive Advisor

Matthew C. Johnson serves as the CEO for Allura Global and Managing Member of the Pro Sales division.  He brings over 24 years of management experience to Valorem.  Mr. Johnson has provided world class Sales and Marketing solutions to the largest Healthcare, CPG, and Food/Beverage companies in the world.

Matthew has led investment opportunities for multiple start-up companies and has a passion for managing funds and advising organizations.  Mr. Johnson has also facilitated several M&A deals within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, real estate, and food and beverage sectors.

On the investment side, Mr. Johnson has raised capital for individual real estate transactions as well as venture capital for emerging companies. This varied experience gives Matt a unique perspective on investment and economic cycles.

Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Administration degree in Marketing and Economics from Ashland University.

Jake Griggs

Executive Advisor

Jake Griggs is a founding partner of the Allura Global family of companies that capitalize, commercialize & manage the global sales & marketing of drugs, medical devices and CPG products from funded start ups to the fortune 100.  He has been instrumental at providing new ventures with advice related to corporate growth and strategy.

He is a prolific executive with extensive experience in founding, building and positioning companies for global expansion into M&A. Jake brings a unique corporate skill set to Valorem and will be providing strategic advice in the areas of fund raising, strategy, demographics and overall business and economics.

Jake has founded or co-founded sixteen successful companies and has commercialized multiple award-winning products in over 30 countries

Jake received a BA in Communications from the University of Cincinnati.
